The best way to lose weight is to take that step forward and start changing bad habits one at a time. A person must be willing to make adjustments to everyday activities in order to lose weight and be able to keep it off in the future. It is not enough to make changes for a few weeks and then simply go back to the way things were before. No one ever said that lifestyle changes were easy; however, they are often very necessary to leading a better life. The changes a person makes now in daily habits and eating preferences will contribute to a greater longevity of life, and often the foods to eat to lose weight are the best for overall health too. In the end, even though the debate may rage on as to whether there is one best way to lose weight, changing eating habits and eating only healthy calories is definitely a good starting point.
Some may struggle with the commitment that it takes to change their daily habits and avoid the negative or empty calories. If a person is struggling to give up the soda, even though it is loaded with sugar and calories, a viable option is switching to diet soda. The individual still gets the caffeine fix for the day, but avoids the excessive caloric intake during the work hours. If a person finds it difficult to not make daily trips to the vending machine or stop in the gas station for a quick snack, then the person could easily change their route for the day to avoid those stops. If the vending machine is in the break room, and the temptation for snacking on unhealthy food is too much, the person always has the option of eating at his or her desk during the lunch break.
The bottom line is to make some healthy changes that will support your weight loss goals and stop looking for the one best way to lose weight. There is no ONE best way, but many small and healthy changes that can make a big difference in the long run. Eating healthy food is a good place to start.
