If you are a rice type of person, you can go with brown rice. Oatmeal is also a good source of carbs and also rich in fiber.
Being a vegetarian is not simply a means of losing weight but it is also a way for you to live healthy, eat right and lower the risks of diseases saving you from costly procedure like a biloprancreatic diversion. If you can change to a vegetarian diet and stick to it you are well on your way to weight loss and all you need to do is start working on exercise.
